Forum areas - what do you want from this forum?

Let's kick off with some meta-discussion!

Should we have an area for general non-bike chat?

And if so, what should we call it?

    The Lounge
    The Cafe
    Tea and cakes
    The large pinot noir

    Any other ideas?

From what I've seen of other forums a general chat area is handy ( not sure what to call it)

Some other areas worth considering are:
A mechanical section if anyone's having issues or needs advice
A rides/route section always good to find new places to ride
A kit section where we could put any recommendations/reviews or offers

Sorry to pile this on you on day 1 well done on the web site it looks great

    Hi birdonabike

Those are all good ideas that we'll bring in as the forum grows.

I agree on the general chat area - a good place for people to step up and introduce themselves too.

    The Lounge is therefore live.

    Hello!

Great to see this website and forum. As soon as I can think of something interesting to say, I'll be right back.

    ¡Hasta pronto!

    Welcome Jenny

Why not jump over to the Lounge and tell us about yourself? How's the riding in Spain? Gotta be warmer than London right now!

I will second the rides/routes, mechanical, and kit review sections.

A section to post notices of stolen bikes is always helpful too.

What about a section for fitness etc? Although I've used other forums that go a bit far and seem to have a million different sections so maybe forget that just now!

Nothing's off the table, but as Nessie poins out, you can over do it!

@Nat@JoyrideCycles - Do you think we should have just one mechanical section, or one for road, one for MTB etc?

I'd say just the one mechanical section would work fine.
